MUSIC
Music is my earliest fascination, almost the first thing I remember. It’s been my sense-maker in a bewildering world, spiritually activating and emotionally conductive to an extent I’m afraid of sometimes. Below are some of the music projects I’ve done and am doing – bands, solo work, and soundtracks for film and dance. ⬇
Pollyanna Jesus
A solo endeavour with several albums in the works. A mixture of my disconnected notion of pop, noise, ambient, broken folk and the sonification of my otherwise shifting synapses. For now this is the only track I’ve shared publicly.
Cayto
Cayto were a strange punk rock band from Glasgow, Scotland, operative from about 1998-2005. They made some albums, toured a lot, and exploded, more or less as the prophecy foretold.
Um Tum
An ongoing project with Yuri Dini, a dancer / musician / theatre artist based in Bologna. We started out dancing and ended up making music for dancing. These compositions resulted from live ritual theatre performances throughout Italy, Sweden, and Scotland.
Soundtracks
Bird and Vessel
A film about Kayo Mikami and Torifune Butoh-Sha, A Japanese Butoh troupe based near Kamakura. Kayo is one of my Butoh teachers and most of the soundtrack here is mine. Produced by Shuta Shimmyo and Yukio Mikami.
